Fuck the South

I've been silent on the blog front since the election, since nothing else has seemed as blog-worthy as that fateful day. I didn't post anything, though, because I couldn't figure out what tone to take about the results. And that's mostly because I couldn't figure out how to feel about the results. Don't get me wrong, I'm very dissappointed in the 59 million Americans who voted for the wrong guy. But should I be sad? angry? energized? polite? brash? serious? comic? This election was such a big deal that I wasn't sure how to deal with it. Before I could figure it out, I grew tired of reading everybody else's thoughts on the matter. So I figured I'd spare you from my own, as they weren't likely to matter much to you anyway.

Instead, I'll just point you towards Fuck the South, a masterfully executed rant, truly demonstrative of the heights to which this art form can be taken. Please know that I'm not some simpleton who sees the red-vs-blue map of the U.S. and thinks that our country is really divided up that simply (I know plenty of blue voters in red states and vice versa), but it does feel good when looking at that map to say Fuck the South!
