Zaurus

I'm writing this on my new Sharp Zaurus 5500. I've been tempted to get a Zaurus for a while now, but my mind was made up for me when I was in Minnesota with my father, where we ran around my grandparents apartment building with his WiFi-enabled Sony Clie, looking for open access points. All I could think was "this is cool, but it'd be so much cooler if we had a Linux box".

So when I spilled lemonade on my laptop today and had to wash it, then wait for it to dry before I could resume working, I decided that it was time to go buy a backup machine. An hour later I had my new Zaurus, and as soon as the battery finished charging I installed OpenZaurus (to replace the silly distro that Sharp ships it with).

Wow, is OpenZaurus sweet! Within minutes I was able to fire up Kismet and start war-walking through my neighborhood. I can tell that this is going to be a really fun toy — er... tool. Um, time to get back to work, I guess.
