Super Computing 2003

Today I'm at SC2003 thanks to their Education Outreach program (I'm representing the International Graduate Center while here).

One reason that I'm particularly excited to be here is that my father was involved with the education outreach program for SC1993, and he managed to get me into the conference with him. I was fascinated back then by what I saw, and I'm fascinated now to see how far things have come in the last 10 years.

Also, back in the 90's the education outreach program consisted only of giving educators access to the exhibit hall for a day. Now they have an education-specific track at the conference, and we're full-fledged attendees. Yay! So far we're only a few hours into the conference, but it looks like it's going to be excellent.
